03 / MATERIAL ADVANTAGES

Why silicon carbide ceramics?

Material advantages are useful only when the grade and geometry match the real operating environment. We keep that distinction clear during technical review.

01

High-temperature stability

Dense SiC can support demanding thermal cycles and retain useful stiffness in hot environments. Confirm atmosphere, load and thermal gradients for your grade.

02

Hard, wear-resistant surface

Silicon carbide is selected where abrasive contact and erosion shorten the life of conventional metals or softer ceramics.

03

Corrosion resistance

SiC can perform in many corrosive process environments. Media chemistry, porosity and temperature must be reviewed together.

04

Thermal conductivity

Useful thermal conductivity supports heat transfer and fixture response, subject to grade, porosity, thickness and process conditions.

3.0–3.2g/cm³ reference density for dense grades
~1,600°Creference high-temperature capability
Customdrawing, sample and tolerance review

Reference values are technical guidance, not a universal product guarantee. The quotation and agreed inspection plan take precedence.

04 / TECHNICAL REFERENCE

Specify the part, not just the material.

A practical SiC ceramic RFQ combines material route, geometry and operating conditions. The ranges below help start the conversation.

Indicative silicon carbide ceramics reference parameters
Material routesReaction-bonded SiC; pressureless-sintered SiC; other grades by review
DensityApprox. 3.0–3.2 g/cm³ for dense grades
Service temperatureUp to approx. 1,600°C in suitable atmospheres
Thermal conductivityApprox. 80–200 W/m·K depending on grade and temperature
HardnessTypically high Mohs hardness; confirm test method and grade

08 / FAQ

Questions engineers ask before they order.

Need a quick answer? Send the drawing and your service conditions. We will reply with the next useful question.

What are silicon carbide ceramics used for?

SiC ceramics are used for high-temperature, wear, corrosion and semiconductor process components such as furnace boats, tubes, rings, susceptors, seals and nozzles.

Which SiC ceramic parts can XINKEHUI make?

We review rings, tubes, boats, plates, discs, sleeves, nozzles and drawing-based custom parts. Feasibility depends on geometry, material route, quantity and inspection.

Can you manufacture from a customer drawing?

Yes. Send a 2D drawing, 3D file or physical sample with material, tolerance, surface and quantity requirements.

What is the difference between reaction-bonded and sintered SiC?

Reaction-bonded SiC can suit complex shapes and dimensional control, while sintered SiC can provide dense, high-purity performance. The right route depends on the process.

What temperature can SiC ceramics withstand?

Dense SiC may be used around 1,600°C in suitable atmospheres. Actual limits depend on grade, atmosphere, load and thermal cycling.

What tolerances are available?

Tolerances are set by the drawing, size and route. We review flatness, concentricity, wall thickness, surface roughness and inspection method together.

Are SiC ceramics suitable for semiconductor equipment?

They can be suitable when purity, outgassing, particles, geometry and cleaning requirements are defined for the application.

Can you supply high-purity SiC?

High-purity requirements can be reviewed. Specify purity target, contamination limits, cleaning method and documentation required.

Do you offer surface machining or polishing?

Machining, grinding, lapping and selected surface treatments can be reviewed against the drawing and service environment.

What should an RFQ include?

Include part drawing, material route or performance target, temperature, atmosphere, media, tolerances, quantity and delivery destination.

What are the price and lead time?

There is no verified public price list or universal lead time. Pricing and delivery are confirmed after technical review.
